I have lived in the water ever since I was born. I swam on swim teams for 7 years and love going into the ocean to bogie board. It is my belief that everyone should have the ability to swim and it is my goal to help people achieve that. I will teach any age group as well and I enjoy teaching special needs lessons . I believe swimming is a skill that is important for safety and for fun. I would love to teach your child.

I have been a competitive swimmer for 11 years and love being in the water. I am a student at Notre Dame and swam with their swim team this past fall. I am lifeguard certified and have experience with all ages and skill levels, but work best with 3 and older. I think swim lessons are a great way for kids to get involved in something at a young age while also learning a life saving skill. My favorite part is helping them reach new goals and be comfortable in the water. I would love the opportunity to work with your kiddos!

I have always loved swimming and have been swimming competitively for 8 years. I am available to teach children of all ages and skill levels. The best part of teaching lessons is watching the kids learn skills they have never been able to. I would love to teach your child!

I have lived in Washington my whole life and swam on the Washington Water Jets Swim Team for 6 years. I enjoy teaching kids of any age or ability level. My favorite part about teaching lessons is being able to work with kids and to watch them progress in swimming. I would love the opportunity to teach your child.

Meet Maddie:I love swimming and boating in lakes as well as the ocean. I took swimming lessons from as a child from a Red Cross instructor and it is something that I has impacted me. I love teaching swim lessons because learning new skill builds confidence and kids make the best expressions and have so much joy when they achieve a goal! I would love to teach children as young as two all the way up to intermediate swimmers. I also have an interest in teaching special needs children as I have worked with life skills kids at the high school. I am lifeguard certified and I am also becoming scuba diving certified. I would love the opportunity to teach your child!

I've been swimming competitively for 8 years and am a high school record holder. I have also taught lessons for the Washington and Peoria Park Districts. I want to share my swimming knowledge because I believe it is a very good skill to have. I would work very well with kids wanting to learn the 4 strokes in swimming. I enjoy teaching ages 7+ but I am open to give intermediate and beginner lessons as well. I like to see kids succeed and have fun while doing it.

I love to be in the water especially during the summer months and I believe everyone should be able to enjoy being in the water as much as I do! I was on the water jets swim team for 1 year and have been swimming my whole life. My favorite part about teaching younger kids is the face of pure joy they get when they finally learn their new skill. I would love the opportunity to give lessons with your kid!

I have been on the swim team for 8 years now and I think swimming is such an important skill to have for all ages! I love teaching all ages and all skill levels! I remember how excited I was when I first started my swim lessons as a kid and my main goal is to bring that feeling of excitement with every lesson I teach. I would love to help your child learn a new skill and maybe find a new passion!

I am lifeguard certified and have been swimming for years! I have been teaching at Five Points for almost two years now and have had the joy of teaching so many kiddos. I love to see the improvement the kids make from lesson to lesson and watch them grow as swimmers. I feel swimming is a very important skill to have and I would love to teach your child!

I love teaching lessons because I find it rewarding being able to help kids learn an important life skill. When I was younger, I took swim lessons from instructors at Five Points. I enjoy working with children ages 3 and up because their personalities shine through. It feels accomplishing when kids reach their goals, no matter how small or big their goals may be. I would love to have the opportunity to teach your child!

I am one of the assistant coaches for the Washington Water Jets swim team and have also taught lessons for the Washington Park Pool. I have been swimming competitively for 12 years. I believe the skill of swimming is one of the best skills that a person can have. I enjoy working with kids starting at the age of five up and am comfortable with any skill level. I look forward to working with your child.

I am a senior at Morton High School. I did competitive swimming on the Morton Otters for 8 years and have worked at the Morton park district as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I love teaching swimming, and I believe it is one of the most valuable life skills. My favorite part of teaching lessons is seeing how excited kids get when they achieve their goals! I am most comfortable with ages two and up and teaching beginner and intermediate skill levels. I am excited to help your child reach their swimming goals!

The safety of our students, families, and teachers is our highest concern during this difficult time. We have increased cleaning to use hospital-grade disinfectant to clean doorknobs, light switches, counters, pianos, and other high-traffic surfaces. We have provided sanitizer and tissues and strongly encourage students, families, and teachers to clean their hands with every lesson.

One-on-one teaching settings are not a high-risk activity for transmission of COVID-19, and we are doing everything possible to follow guidelines from the CDC and WHO to help our community by slowing the spread of the coronavirus. However, we understand that some families are concerned, particularly with IUSD closing until April 6. To prevent students from losing progress in their music study, we strongly recommend continuing lessons through video chat if you decide you wish to keep your children at home during this time.

The Augustana School of Music has three different types of scholarships available for first-year students. Each of these are designed to reward your musical talents and help make an Augustana education more affordable. All scholarships require participation in an ensemble and may require private lesson instruction.

The best way to see if Augustana is the right fit for you is to meet with our students and professors. If you fill out this form, it will connect you with our faculty and students and we can help schedule a private lesson, campus visit or answer any questions you might have.

Students who are awarded a School of Music scholarship will be required to participate in a musical ensemble and a private lesson instruction during all semesters. Private lesson fees can be accessed on the Payment Information page under the "Fee Schedules" heading.

Our Pro Musica Scholarship is our most competitive award, totaling $8,000 per year. Any student is eligible for this scholarship, regardless of their chosen major, through completing an application and audition. Successful awardees have typically been a principal/section leader in their high school ensemble and have had multiple years of private instruction.

Kat F. Recruiter at Systems, also looked back fondly on the lessons of the 2022 Leadership Summit in October of this past year, an annual event that brings FOSS team members from all of our schools and headquarters together in person to learn, share experiences, and help each other grow. She even got this snapshot with our founder Jon Foss while out with the team!

Private Lesson is a one on one time that a student or couple have with their teacher. Our private lessons are 45min long and deal with a great amount of detail from musicality to footwork as well as the proper balance between the man and a woman or leader and follower. Private lessons are also sometimes a great start for genuine beginners that may not feel comfortable in a group setting just yet.

The Competition will have two divisions: a Senior Division and a Junior Division.
